Vintage 1950s Japanese Salad Bowl Set 7 piece Japan

I attended a living estate sale where the person had been a world traveller, and was downsizing their extensive collection. This beautiful Japanese salad bowl set
has handpainted designs on a black background, with laquer finish, over the wood. It was not made for export, and was purchased in Japan in the 1950s, so it is not
stamped with the country. The large salad bowl measures 9 1/4" across the opening, 4 5/8" across the bottom base, 11" across the total diameter of the bowl, and is 3 1/2" tall.
Each of the four small salad bowls is 5 1/8" across the opening, 2" across the bottom base, and is 1 1/2" tall. The fork measures 107/8" long, and the spoon is 10 6/8" long.
There are a few tiny marks, that are not very noticeable. This elegant set would complement your oriental decor, and make an excellent gift for those facinated by far away places!
